Nutrition Programs

Dining Sites

Please refer to our Newsletter for details on our Menu and Programs for each location. Call us at 238-7368 if you wish to subscribe to our Newsletter or download a pdf form found on our home page.

Delicious meals are served Mondays - Friday and one Saturday per month at three different Westside locations. Special programs (free of charge EXCEPT for Saturdays) often follow these meals. The cost is $6.15. Anyone 60+ may make a donation, but are asked to pay what they can afford. Suggested donation is $3. Reservations ARE always required.

We LOVE to serve meals BUT our donations are not keeping pace with the program costs. You know that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? We depend on you to keep it full. Your donations make up 35% of our Nutrition Program budget. Consider increasing your donation and by all means, drop that gold in the donation box. How Lucky We Are to Serve Meals to You!!

Transit Solutions provides rides for daytime meals only. Cost is $1 round trip. Buses can accommodate people with wheelchairs and walkers. Reserve a ride when making your meal reservation.

Monday meals are served at 5:15 PM. Reservations by noon, the Friday before. Tuesday and Thursday meals are served at noon. Reservations by noon the day before. Call 238-0196 to make your reservations. See our Newsletter for the menu.

The following Thursday program(s) begin at 12:45 PM and are free and open to the public.

Thursday, February 16th
Program: The Dietary Guidelines have been updated...do you know how much sodium you should consume? Nutrition Educator Tonia Floyd from UW Extension Dane County will show you how to choose foods that are low in sodium for a healthy diet.

Meals are available on Wednesdays and Fridays at noon. Programs begin at 12:45 PM. The cost is $6.15 or $3 donation for anyone 60+. Call 238-7368 by noon the preceding day to make your reservations. See our Newsletter for the menu.

Note: The Lussier Community Education Center will be closed starting Friday, December 23rd and reopen Wednesday, January 4th.

Transit solutions provides transportation for $1. Make reservation when reserving meal.

The Lunch Bunch meets every Wednesday and Friday for lunch. On Wednesdays, there is lunch only except for an occasional special program. On Fridays, a program follows lunch. Programs are listed below.

Friday, February 10th
Program: Home Safety Falls and Prevention. Join Jim Todd, Phusical Therapist Ergonomic Specialist from Home Health United, as he talks avbout risk factors for falling. He will discuss how to reduce your risk by improving balance, using assistive devices and improving the safety of your home. Jim will also talk about HHU's new S.A.F.E. at Home-Safety Assessments for the Elderly program.

Wednesday, February 22nd

Lechayim Mealtime Plus Beth Israel Center

Lechayim serves meals Mondays at 12:00 PM. Reservations are required by the preceding Thursday, call 278-1808 ext.227. The kosher meals are cooked at Beth Israel by Ron and Sara Ben-Ami of B'Tayavon. A donation of $6.10 is suggested. Program begins at 1:00 PM. Transportation by Transit Solutions for $1. See our Newsletter for the menu.
